I Too Can Do is an initiative by Early Smile Foundation designed to make real education, career, creative, and leadership pathways visible early enough for young Africans to act with clarity and confidence. Through structured interviews, peer-led learning sessions, and practical pathway clinics, the initiative connects young people to relatable peers who have navigated similar questions and decisions.
In this edition of I Too Can Do, we sat down with Tyrone Marhguy — a Ghanaian engineer whose journey began under extraordinary circumstances, including a period when his family lived on a parked bus. Rather than defining him by hardship, the conversation explored how those early experiences shaped a first-principles mindset that now drives his work in processor architecture, from building an 8-bit ALU with thousands of discrete transistors to designing real silicon. This discussion challenges young Africans to move beyond consuming technology and instead commit to building the foundational systems that will define the continent’s future.
